Hiring Toys

Choosing from our collection of over 200 toys is easier than ever with the library being open 6 days per week. While you are able to hire toys at any time, our toy librarian Colleen is available three mornings a week (Mon, Wed, Fri 10am to 12noon) to help with queries and new or renewing memberships.

To hire toys you need to be a member of the Carterton Public Library and the toy library.

 

Fees and Charges

Annual Subscription $10.00

Toy Hire (excluding event hire) $4.00 for three weeks

Missing part $5.00 each part

Lost or damaged toy Full replacement cost

Overdue Fees apply

How to get involved

If you are passionate about children's learning or have skills you think may benefit the toy library becoming a toy library committee member is easy. Simply chat to Colleen in the library or contact us via Facebook or this website.

We meet once a month at a members home to discuss the management and admin of the toy library including toy purchases, grant applications, fundraising and of course the boring stuff like money and budgets!

Fundraising and PR include a monthly Saturday morning sausage sizzle at Carterton New World, running information stalls at local events and writing articles for the local papers. 

Of course you can also volunteer to support Colleen in the toy library as well.
